Rendering Engineer C++ (M/W/D)

To advance the development of our medical imaging software, we are looking for a Software Engineer with experience in graphics development. As a Rendering Engineer, you will contribute to our high quality and high-performance software application. Within the Graphics and Visualisation team, your responsibilities will include extending the rendering software infrastructure as well as realizing specific rendering algorithms required for state of the art visualization of medical data. You will play a critical role in a startup environment and become part of a dynamic group of innovators, shaping the future of imaging in healthcare.

YOUR ROLE WILL BE

  • Developing performant and complex medical software applications in latest C++ standards as well as working within graphics backend and frontend environments.
  • Designing and implementing new features related to the graphics pipeline of our application to visualize complex dynamic data sets in real time.
  • Collaborating with our UI/UX team to optimize the user experience surrounding our interactive 3D applications.
  • Applying all parts of the development cycle in graphics-related areas of our software, from architectural and software design through implementation and testing through product releases.

WHAT YOU OFFER

  • BS or MS in computer science or related study background.
  • 2+ years of experience in graphics and software development in C++ with direct experience in working with a modern graphics API (OpenGL 3.3/4+, DirectX11/12, Vulkan).
  • Experience in designing and maintaining rendering architecture and code for complex software systems, ideally for scientific or medical data visualization.
  • Experience with continuous integration/test-driven development and software validation applying an agile, sprint based approach.
  • Strong analytical mindset and the passion for developing software with complex challenges.
  • Good understanding of the rendering pipeline including: Rendering theory and physically based rendering, Render/Framegraphs, GPU architecture and memory transfer optimization. Basic knowledge of scientific volume rendering, 3D image processing or OpenGL/Cuda interop is a plus.
  • Interest in medical imaging and data processing and driving the development of our software framework and processing infrastructure.
  • Hands-on mindset and creativity for problem-solving within multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Strong work ethics with a team-oriented mindset. Startup experience is a plus.
  • Good communication skills in English are essential, German language is a plus.
