To support our imaging development, we are looking for an experienced Senior Engineer and creative team player to join our growing team. As a Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for driving and developing high quality and high-performance ultrasound imaging and image processing methodologies for our disruptive medical imaging system. You will play a critical role in a startup environment and become part of a dynamic group of innovators, shaping the future of imaging in healthcare.

YOUR ROLE WITH US

You enjoy collaborating with colleages in our team as well as external stakeholders  to solve challenging processing problems and strive to develop high performance medical imaging applications. You are an expert for image and signal processing in software, and bring a holistic understanding of imaigng systems all the way from hardware solutions through software algorithms and data visualization. You love adapting existing and finding new solutions based on actual data.
We work on a modern tech stack using C++17, CMake and package management. We enjoy prototyping efficiently in python, to rapidly test approaches towards continously improving imaging performance and do this in close collaboration with end users. Data quality is king, and we would love to see you contributing toward cutting edge imaging performance as part of our development team. You are proficient not only in developing signal and imaging processing approaches to drive performance, but also enjoy developing test methods for characterizing improvements and ensuring that our products meet the relevant requirements and applicable standards.

WHAT YOU OFFER

• BS or MS in computer science or related study background
• 5+ years of relevant industry experience in (ultrasound) image processing
• Understanding of data acquisition and processing steps as well as ultrasound image formation including processing, enhancement and display
• Strong experience in programming (C++ and parallel computing e.g. in CUDA, TBB, OpenMP or comparable).
• Prototyping experience for image processing methodologies, python preferred
• Proven track record of generating innovative concepts that can be turned into flexible and robust modules resulting in clear performance advantages of medical imaging products.
• Knowledge of agile, sprint-based approaches.
• Experience with regulatory requirements specifically to medical software development is a plus (e.g. ISO 62304, IEC 60601).
• Basic knowledge of mechanical engineering and electrical engineering is a plus.
• Hands-on mindset and creativity for problem-solving within multi-disciplinary teams.
• Strong work ethics with a team-oriented mindset. Startup experience is a plus.
• Open-minded personality and excellent communication skills in English are essential, German is a plus.
