To drive our platform development, we are looking for an experienced Senior MEMS Design Engineer and creative team player to join our growing team. As a Senior MEMS Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing high quality and high-performance micromachined ultrasound transducers for our disruptive medical imaging system. You will play a critical role in a startup environment and become part of a dynamic group of innovators, shaping the future of imaging in healthcare.

YOUR ROLE WITH US

You collaborate with us to solve challenging problems ranging from modeling and simulating micromachined ultrasound transducer elements to mask layout and performance characterisation. With your experience you lead the integration of our MEMS components into the overall product and therefore work closely with our optic, electronic, software and mechanical teams. You love adapting existing solutions and finding new solutions based on actual data. You are proficient in developing testing methods for characterizing MEMS components to ensure our products meet the relevant requirements and applicable standards. In this role, you will regularly interact with development partners, suppliers and sub-contractors to drive technologies that enable new micromachined ultrasound transducer based imaging sensors, diagnosing engineering issues as you go, driving to definitive root cause and corrective actions.

WHAT YOU OFFER

• MS or PhD in MEMS, physics.
• 5+ years’ experience in designing MEMS, FEM modelling and mask layout.
• Strong knowledge of processing and manufacturing MEMS. Hands-on experiences in cleanroom process will be a plus.
• Experience in Finite Element Method models with software packages such as COMSOL and/or ANSYS.
• Experience in open-source acoustics toolbox for MATLAB such as k-Wave and Field II will be a plus.
• Experience in characterisation of micromachined ultrasound transducers for imaging applications.
• Knowledge of MEMS packaging and experience in working with ASIC designers to optimise system performance.
• Hands-on mindset and creativity for problem-solving within multi-disciplinary teams.
• Strong work ethics with a team-oriented mindset. Startup experience is a plus.
• Open-minded personality and excellent communication skills in English are essential, German is a plus.
